A conversation to and with God

The most basic definition of prayer is, simply, a conversation with God. We directly engage God in prayer individually, for others, or corporately with the spoken word or silent meditation. Importantly, prayer is a dialogue – a two-way conversation – where listening is also involved. For prayer to be effective, we must be willing to still ourselves and hear what God is saying. Prayer is not just an ordinary conversation, but honors God as we place ourselves in His presence. As a result of seeking Him, a strong relationship is formed.

At Cornerstone, we believe in the power of prayer. We believe prayer is our connection with the eternal. Prayer changes people, our communities, and the nations. Through prayer, there is hope for the hopeless, peace for the troubled heart, and a way when there seems to be no way!
